HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• The University of Delaware volleyball team will close out their final three home matches of the 2017 season this weekend after dropping a pair of three-set road matches at Northeastern on Friday and Hofstra on Sunday. The Huskies posted set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 21-18 over the Blue Hens on their home court. The Pride captured Sunday's contest by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-15. The Blue Hens dropped to 5-17 overall and 3-9 in the Colonial Athletic Association. UD is tied for sixth in the CAA standings along with Elon, with four matches remaining in the regular season.
• Junior Brooke Robertson led the Blue Hens with seven kills in Friday's match, surpassing the 200-kill mark for her career, while also posting six digs. Courtnie Roberts, last week's CAA Rookie of the Week, contributed 10 assists, seven digs and five kills. Outside hitter Maria Bellinger hit six kills and six digs against Northeastern.
• Setter Abby Skryd led the team with 13 assists and posted six digs, while Maddie Judge made seven digs vs. the Huskies.
• Robertson also led UD with seven kills against the Pride, while Bellinger contributed six. Roberts posted a team-high 16 assists along with four kills and five digs. Julia Hayes posted three blocks while Judge led the Blue Hens with 12 digs, bringing her to seven digs away from reaching the 300-career mark.
• Bellinger remains second in the CAA for kills with a 3.93 average, while Skryd is ranked ninth in assists with 5.49 per set. Judge is ranked eighth in the conference for digs, averaging 3.53.
• This weekend marks Blue Hens' final home matches of the season, with Sunday's match honoring seniors Daria Robinson and Raven Luckett in a pregame ceremony.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Delaware leads the all-time series with UNCW, 25-11, but the Seahawks have taken eight of the last 10 matches versus the Blue Hens. UD fell to UNCW on the Seahawks' home court, 3-2, in their first meeting this season. The Seahawks have dropped six of their previous seven matches.
• UD leads the all-time series with the Dukes, 27-26. JMU has a three-match win streak over the Blue Hens, winning their previous meeting in a three-set match earlier this season. The Dukes enter the week having won both of their matches last weekend. JMU is ranked first in the league with 2.79 blocks per set while M'Kaela White ranks first individually for JMU with 1.45.
• Charleston leads Delaware, 11-3, in 14 all-time series meetings. The Blue Hens snapped the Cougars' 10-match winning streak in the series when they defeated them 3-2, last season at the 2016 CAA Semifinals in Wilmington, N.C., but Charleston topped Delaware 3-0 in their first meeting this season in early October. The Cougars enter the week on a 10-match win streak.
