Delaware Drops 84-82 Overtime Decision To Mount St. Mary's in Hurricane Relief Exhibition

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Mount St. Mary's guard Junior Robinson hit two free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime as the Mountaineers edged the University of Delaware, 84-82, Wednesday night in a men's basketball exhibition benefit for hurricane relief efforts.
Blue Hen junior forward Eric Carter finished with 20 points and eight rebounds for Delaware, while Ryan Daly added a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. Freshman Ryan Allen contributed 19 points, including nine in the extra session, while classmate Kevin Anderson was the fourth Blue Hen in double figures with 12 points on four triples.
Robinson paced the Mountaineers with 27 points, while Jonah Antonio added 18 points on six three-pointers.
Delaware did not trail for the first 29 minutes of the game, but The Mount rallied to take a six-point lead with 4:06 to play. It was a 69-64 game with two minutes left but Jacob Cushing and Carter each hit two free throws before Daly converted a three-point play to put UD in front 71-69.
However Robinson found Bobby Planutis for a layup with :02.9 seconds left as the Mountaineers forced overtime.
Allen drilled a corner three-pointer to tie the game at 82-82 with 20 seconds left in overtime, but Robinson was fouled with :02.1 remaining and hit a pair of free throws to give The Mount the victory.
Delaware played without guards Anthony Mosley (toe) and Darian Bryant (back), who sat out with injuries.
