Blue Hens Dixon Named to CAA All-Rookie Team

RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware women's soccer freshman Riley Dixon was named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team announced by the conference Thursday.
Dixon (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) is the third CAA All-Freshman pick in the last three years for Delaware, joining teammates Riley Curtin and Dani Kabat, who
This season Dixon scored a pair of goals and tallied a pair of assists, appearing in all 18 games (11 starts). In Delaware's 2-1 double-overtime victory over Lehigh, Dixon tallied the game-winner in the 104th-minute. Dixon also tallied a pair of assists in Delaware's 2-1 overtime victory over Marist, earning CAA Rookie of the Week honors (Week of Sept. 3).
CAA Player of the Year was awarded to Kristin Desmond (Hofstra), while Madeline Anderson (Hofstra) took home CAA Defensive Player of the Year. Meredith Christopher earned CAA Rookie of the Year, while Hofstra's Simon Riddiough was named CAA Coach of the Year.
