ORLANDO, Fla. -- All nine Blue Hen starters reached the hit column as the University of Delaware softball team cruised to an 8-1 victory over LIU Brooklyn to conclude action at the Orange Blossom Invitational Sunday morning at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The Blackbirds (3-6) took the early lead in the top of the first inning as Angie Rizzi singled with one out, moved to third on a single by Nereyda Gutierrez, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Angie Vazquez. However the Blue Hens (2-8) answered with two runs in the bottom half when Devon Steiner laced a double to rightcenter to drive home Mattie Nuccio and Anna Steinmetz.

Giovanna Kolofer and Sarah Coyne then opened the bottom of the second with singles, while Emily Neal followed with an RBI double to leftfield to allow Kolofer to score. Two outs later Mariah Kondravy delivered a two-run single to right, as Coyne and Neal each crossed the plate to make it a 5-1 game.

Delaware tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth as Leanna Gearhart led off with a single before Steinmetz blasted a two-out homer to left. The Blue Hens added their final run the following frame after Neal reached on an error and eventually scored when Kondravy worked a bases loaded walk.

UD pitcher Jordan Cargile improved to 2-4 in the circle after allowing just one run on three hits in six innings, before Taylor Curran fired a scoreless seventh.

Gearhart and Kolofer each finished 3 for 4 with a run scored for the Blue Hens, while Steiner added two hits and Kondravy drove home three.

Game Notes:
• Kondravy became UD's career leader in RBI and now has 109, breaking the previous record of 107 held by Lauren Mark (1998-2001)
• Steinmetz belted her third home run of the season
• Coyne made her first career start as a Blue Hen
• Delaware improved to 3-3 vs. LIU Brooklyn, as the teams met for the first time since 1994
• The Blue Hens will take next weekend off before playing four games at the Tennessee Invitational on Mar. 3-5
