Delaware Heads To Tennessee Invitational For Four Games This Weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Following a week off, the University of Delaware softball team returns to action this weekend when the Blue Hens play four games at the Tennessee Invitational.
Delaware will take on Southeastern Louisiana on Friday at 12 noon at Tennessee's Sherri Parker Lee Stadium, before facing Ohio University on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Blue Hens will then battle Bradley at 9 a.m. on Sunday, prior to facing the 15th-ranked Volunteers at 2 p.m. that afternoon.
Audio will be available for the Tennessee game, while live stat links will be available for all four of Delaware's games at the tournament.
Delaware is 2-8 on the young season, but is coming off an 8-1 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 19 during the final game of the Orange Blossom Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
Emily Neal is leading the Blue Hens with a .400 batting average and 12 hits, while Anna Steinmetz is hitting .324 with a team-high three home runs. Mariah Kondravy has batted .323 and leads the squad with eight RBI, while Leanna Gearhart has scored a team-best seven runs on the year.
Southeastern Louisiana is 8-7 on the season, as Kinsey Nichols is hitting .424 with team-highs of 14 hits and 11 RBI while Jaquelyn Ramon is batting .361 with a team-leading 12 runs scored. Lacey Hill is 4-0 with a 2.42 earned run average in the circle for the Lions.
Ohio University brings an impressive 8-1 record into the invitational, with the Bobcats' lone loss coming to South Carolina. Ohio won all four games at its home tournament last weekend by defeating Northern Illinois and Rutgers twice. Morgan Geno leads Ohio with a .400 batting average and 10 hits, while MacKenzie Brunswick is hitting .375 with three doubles and Madison Claytor has belted three home runs.
Bradley is 9-6 on the year, and won all five of its games last weekend at the Mardi Gras Classic in Lafayette, La. Caitlyn McCarron paces the Braves with a .512 batting average, five doubles and 15 RBI, while Kelly Kapp is hitting .472 with team-highs of 25 hits and 16 runs scored. Jaelen Hull has posted a 5-1 record and a 3.18 ERA in the circle for Bradley, which is hitting .302 as a team.
Tennessee opened its season with 13 consecutive wins before falling to Utah and Texas during its final two games at last weekend's Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. Meghan Gregg is batting .489 with a team-leading 22 hits, five doubles, four home runs and 23 RBI for the Volunteers, while Brooke Vines is hitting .417 and Megan Geer has scored a team-high 19 runs. Caylan Arnold is 5-2 with a 1.14 ERA for Tennessee, while Matty Moss has won all seven of her decisions to go with a 1.37 ERA.
Delaware won its only previous meeting with Southeastern Louisiana, 4-2, in 2013 and is 2-0 vs. Ohio University, although the teams haven't met since 2000. The Blue Hens will be facing Bradley and Tennessee for the first time in school history on Sunday.
