Blue Hen Women's Golf Program Announces 2017 Fall Schedule

NEWARK, Del. -- The two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion University of Delaware women's golf team will play five tournaments including hosting its own invitational once again as the Blue Hens announced their 2017 fall schedule on Wednesday.
The Blue Hens, led by seventh-year head coach Patty Post, open the campaign at the Rutgers Invitational on Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. on Sept. 9-10. Delaware also kicked off its 2016 season at Rutgers and claimed the team title with a 15-shot victory.
Two weeks later Delaware heads to the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course in State College, Pa. on Sept. 23-24, before competing in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Course in Princeton, N.J. on Sept 30-Oct. 1. A week later the Blue Hens will participate in the Yale Intercollegiate at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 6-8.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Blue Hens will conclude their fall season by hosting the University of Delaware Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. on Oct. 21-22.
Delaware returns four of its top six players from a year ago, including Ariane Klotz who was named the CAA Rookie of the Year in the spring after leading the Blue Hens with a 75.34 average round and five top 10 finishes. Also back for the Blue Hens are junior Valentina Mueller, who ranked third on the team with a 77.16 stroke average last season, junior Ashley Dingman, who was fourth with a 77.38 average round, and sophomore Josefina Fernandez-Davila, who was sixth with a 79.52 average round.
