Hens Duo to Compete at ITA Rivieria All-American Tournament

NEWARK, Del. – Junior Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and sophomore Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) have been selected to represent the Blue Hens at the ITA Rivieria All-American Tournament.
The duo will compete in the Pre-Qualifying Doubles portion of the tournament at Pepperdine University's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center this Saturday and Sunday.
“I'm incredibly excited for our program, Sara and Brooke, and also the University of Delaware in representing the Blue Hens in California,” remarked UD head coach Laura Travis, who is in her 26th season at her alma mater. “Having Delaware in the mix at one of the highest-level national tournaments of the year is significant for the growth of our program. This is a reflection of the hard work that Sara and Brooke put in, not only last spring, but throughout their time as Blue Hens.”
Within the Pre-Qualifying Round, which consists of 32 teams, pairs must win three rounds to advance to the Qualifying Round, which will take place October 3-4 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The Main Draw will be played October 5-8, also at the Riviera Tennis Club.
