RICHMOND, Va. – It was a long seven weeks for freshman Toni Starova of the University of Delaware women's soccer team.
After getting injured in the second game of the season at Seton Hall, Starova finally made her return to the Blue Hens lineup this past weekend and helped secure Delaware's second CAA win with the game-winning goal against UNCW on Sunday afternoon.
Starova's second-half goal against the Seahawks pushed the Blue Hens into a three-way tie for the final CAA Tournament spot with two games remaining.
With Starova out of the lineup, Delaware scored six goals in the first 13 goals. In the two games this past weekend with Starova back, the Blue Hens scored three goals.
The goal was her first collegiate goal.
Up next is a date with William & Mary on Thursday evening at Grant Stadium, the final home game of 2018 for the Blue Hens. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
