Delaware in Second Place Following First Day of Blue Hen Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The University of Delaware women's golf squad posted two impressive rounds as UD sits in second place following Saturday's action at the Blue Hen Invitational.
Delaware tied the program record by carding a 287 in the first round of the day, before following with a 296 score as the Blue Hens are second out of 13 squads with a 583 total. Seton Hall leads the field with a 580 score, while Delaware sits three shots back. Georgetown is third at 588, while Penn and High Point are tied for fourth with 591 scores. The Blue Hen "B" team is 13th with a 639 total.
UD sophomore Thitaree Sakulbunpanich fired a two over par 71-73-144 on the par 71, 5,932-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club course, and is tied for fifth place in the individual standings. Sophia Dieter is tied for seventh place with a three over par 73-72-145, while her twin sister Mackenzie Dieter is tied for 18th place with a seven over par 70-79-149.
Ariane Klotz carded an eight over par 78-72-150 to end the day in a tie for 25th place, while Ashley Dingman is tied for 40th place after firing an 11 over par 73-80-153.
Valentina Mueller paced the "B" squad with a 14 over par 76-80-156 to end the day in a tie for 52nd place while Aashaka Desai, playing as an individual, is also tied for 52nd place with a 79-77-156.
Also competing for the Blue Hen "B" team are Kylie Greulich (T-58th, 78-80-156), Isabella Rimton (62nd, 84-78-162), Josefina Fernandez-Davila (63rd, 82-81-163), and Siena Ferrick (70th, 89-83-172).
Sarah Kahn of High Point shot a two under par 71-69-140 on Saturday and leads the field, while three players are three shots back.
The final round of the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
