RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman defender Timo Hummrich was named the CAA Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday, earning the award for the third time this season.
Hummrich (Berlin, Germany/Hertha BSC) scored the Blue Hens' second goal during Saturday's 2-1 home win over Northeastern when he headed home a cross from John Schroeder into the bottom right corner of the net from eight yards out.
Hummrich now leads Delaware with four goals and eight points this season, while his three game-winning goals are tied for second most in the league. He also earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 24 and Oct. 8.
Delaware closes out its regular season on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Penn. The Blue Hens have earned the fourth seed in the CAA Tournament, and will host a quarterfinal game on Saturday at Grant Stadium against either William & Mary or Northeastern.
