Blue Hens in 12th Place After First Day of Princess Anne Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Delaware women's golf team carded a 304 score on Friday to end the first day of the Princess Anne Invitational in 12th place.
UCF and Campbell are tied for the team lead at the tournament with 284 scores, followed by Maryland at 285 and Sacramento State at 286.
Blue Hen junior Josefina Fernandez-Davila, playing as an individual, fired a one over par 71 on the par 70, 5,824-yard course at Princess Anne Country Club, ending the day tied for 10th place. Fernandez-Davila birdied the 15th, fifth and eighth holes while adding 11 pars during her round.
Mackenzie Dieter is tied for 34th place with a four over par 74, while her sister Sophia Dieter and Ashley Dingman are both tied for 48th place at six over par 76.
Isabella Rimton, also playing as an individual, and Thitaree Sakulbunpanich are each tied for 58th place after both players carded an eight over par 78. Ariane Klotz shot a 10 over par 80 on Friday and is tied for 63rd place.
Virunpat Olankitkunchai of Maryland leads the field at five under par, while Elizabeth Moon of UCF is two shots back.
The second round of the three-day tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
