Blue Hens Set Single Round Record, Tie For 10th Place at Princess Anne Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Delaware women's golf squad set the program record for lowest single round team score with a 287 on Sunday as the Blue Hens finished in a tie for 10th place at the Princess Anne Invitational.
Delaware beat the previous record of 289, previously set twice including once earlier this year at the Golfweek Program Championship. The Blue Hens, who carded 304 and 293 rounds on the first two days of the tournament, tied for 10th place out of 12 teams with an 884 total. UCF captured the team title with an 857 score, while Campbell finished four shots back.
UD freshman Mackenzie Dieter shot a fiver over par 75 on the par 70, 5,824-yard course at Princess Anne Country Club on Sunday, tying for 23rd place with a 10 over par 74-71-75-220.
Thitaree Sakulbunpanich carded the lowest round of the day by a Blue Hen with a one under par 69, and tied for 36th place with a 13 over par 78-76-69-223. Sakulbunpanich birdied the 10th, third and ninth holes during Sunday's round, while adding 13 pars on the day.
Ariane Klotz, who fired a 71 during her final round, and Sophia Dieter, who recorded a two over par 72, each tied for 39th place at 14 over par. Klotz finished with an 80-73-71-224, while Dieter carded a 76-76-72-224.
Ashley Dingman tied for 48th place at the invitational with a 16 over par 76-73-77-226. Josefina Fernandez-Davila carded an 18 over par 71-78-79-228 to tie for 55th place, while Isabella Rimton tied for 62nd place with a 25 over par 78-79-78-235.
Elizabeth Moon of UCF fired a 65 on Sunday to finish at seven under par and post a three-shot victory.
Delaware concludes its fall season by hosting the Blue Hen Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club on October 20-21.
