Timo Hummrich Earns Second CAA Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week Award

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware freshman midfielder Timo Hummrich earned his second CAA Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week honor in three weeks on Monday.
Hummrich (Berlin, Germany/Hertha BSC) scored the only goal of the match during the Blue Hens' 1-0 victory at Elon last Wednesday.
Midway through the second half, Hummrich collected a feed from David Vavrous from 10 yards out on the right side and fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the net at the 68:06 mark for the only goal of the game.
Hummrich, who has started all 11 matches in the Blue Hen backfield this season, currently leads the team with three goals. He currently is tied for second in the league with three goals in CAA matches.
Delaware (3-8, 2-2 CAA) returns to action on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. match against Drexel at Vidas Field.
