• THE WEEK[END]THAT WAS: The Blue Hens enter this week coming off an impressive three-game sweep of in-state rival Delaware State. The weekend started a day late, as game one was played Saturday afternoon. Righty Nick Spadafino took the start for Delaware (6.0 IP, 2ER) and received a no-decision. Five seventh-inning runs were the difference for UD, who held on for a 9-5 victory. Sunday brought two more victories for the home squad, as UD defeated DSU 9-0 and 11-4 (only seven innings) to complete the sweep. In Sunday's opener, Kyle Hinton fired seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball, striking out 10. The outing lowered his ERA to 1.59 this season. • HIT THE ROAD…. JIM?: Head coach Jim Sherman and the Blue Hens will play their seventh road game of the season so far. Delaware is 2-4 this season on the road. Following the contest at Maryland, UD will be open an eight-game homestand (longest of the season).
• NEW HENS ON THE BLOCK: Touting 13 newcomers this season, the new additions to the Delaware attack led the charge this weekend. JUCO transfer Matt Rykaczewski broke out for UD, hitting 4-for-8 with four runs scored and a pair of RBI. He wasn't alone, however,
