• Delaware opens an eight-game homestand on Wednesday when the Blue Hens host Delaware State in a 3 p.m. doubleheader at the UD Softball Stadium.
• The Blue Hens are looking to snap a four-game losing skid after getting swept at James Madison last weekend.
• Anna Steinmetz drove home a run with a sacrifice fly in Friday's opening game, while Mariah Kondravy followed with an RBI single.
• Freshman Chayanna Gallardo hit her first career home run during Sunday's series finale vs. the Dukes.
• Steinmetz continues to lead the Blue Hens with a .341 batting average, 30 hits, 16 runs scored, seven doubles, seven home runs and 27 RBI.
• Kondravy is hitting .286 with 28 hits, seven doubles, five homers and 17 RBI.
• Leanna Gearhart, who delivered two hits in Friday's second game, is batting .275 on the year with a CAA-high 13 stolen bases.
• Desiree Moreno leads Delaware State with a .438 batting average, 39 hits, seven home runs and 21 RBI, while Khaliyah Flournory is hitting .396 with a team-high 23 runs scored and nine doubles for the Hornets.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Delaware leads the all-time series with Delaware State, 30-7-1, and the teams split a doubleheader last year in Dover. The Hornets took the opener, 13-8, before the Blue Hens responded with a 15-4 triumph in the nightcap.
