HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• Delaware continues its homestand this weekend by hosting Hofstra in a three-game series at the UD Softball Stadium. The Blue Hens and Pride will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday, with action on both days beginning at 12 noon. Sunday's game is Bark in the Park as fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the stadium (must fill out a waiver.)
• Delaware is coming off a twinbill sweep of Delaware State on Wednesday afternoon, as the Blue Hens posted victories of 2-1 and 10-5 over the Hornets.
• Mariah Kondravy went 4 for 6 during the doubleheader, and drove home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning during the opener. Anna Steinmetz, Mattie Nuccio, Chayanna Gallardo and Giovanna Kolofer each added two hits on the afternoon.
• Kondravy and Steinmetz both delivered two doubles on the day, and are tied for the team lead with nine this season. Kondravy is UD's career leader with 54 doubles, while Steinmetz is tied for 10th place with 26. Kondravy is also the program's leader with 157 RBI, while Steinmetz ranks second with 122.
• Kondravy currently ranks second in UD history with 217 hits, while Leanna Gearhart is fourth with 188 hits.
• Hofstra leads the CAA with a 9-0 league mark, following weekend sweeps of UNCW, Elon and Charleston.
• The Pride ranks second in the conference with a 1.62 ERA, led by Sophie Dandola (10-3, 1.10 ERA) and Sarah Cornell (15-5, 1.66 ERA).
• Brielle Pietrafesa leads Hofstra with a .317 batting average, 10 doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBI.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Hofstra leads the all-time series with Delaware, 67-19, but the teams have split six meetings over the last two years. Last season the Pride took two of three contests in Hempstead, sweeping a doubleheader before the Blue Hens won the final game, 6-4.
