HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• Delaware hosts Mount St. Mary's in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the UD Softball Stadium in its second to last series of regular season play. The Blue Hens currently sit in seventh place in the CAA standings with a 5-13 mark but can still qualify for the league tournament by sweeping Elon along with Charleston winning at least one game from UNCW.
• UD is coming off of a series win at UNCW last weekend. The teams split a doubleheader on Saturday before Delaware posted a 4-3 victory on Sunday after Mariah Kondravy belted a tie-breaking home run in the top of the seventh inning.
• Kondravy led the Blue Hens in the series with a .455 batting average, two home runs and five hits while also recording two runs, five RBI and one double. She hit the 32nd homer of her career and is tied for the team lead with seven this year, along with Anna Steinmetz.
• Steinmetz and Julia Solderitch each batted .375 over the weekend with three hits apiece. Steinmetz knocked home two runs and slammed two doubles for her 28th career double, now tied for ninth in school history. Sunday marked Solderitch's first two-hit game of her career.
• Leanna Gearhart scored three runs, notched three hits and smacked a triple while stealing two bases. Her 19 stolen bases are the most in the CAA this season, while she is tied for the UD record with 22 career triples.
• Senior Jordan Cargile picked up her fifth and sixth wins of the season as she struck out eight UNCW batters this weekend and recorded a 1.50 ERA. Following UD's series win at UNCW Cargile was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday, the second conference accolade of her career.
• Morgan Alisauckas leads the Mountaineers with a .319 batting average, while Lindsay Heinze is hitting .316 with team-highs of 11 doubles and 27 RBI.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Delaware has won all 18 previous meetings with Mount St. Mary's, including a 9-0 record in Newark. The teams last played a doubleheader in 2016 at the UD Softball Stadium, with the Blue Hens posting 8-2 and 3-2 victories.
