· The Blue Hens are making their second straight and fourth appearance in the CAA Tournament since 2014.
· Delaware is 3-9 all-time in the CAA Tournament and has never won the CAA title.
· In 1995, the Hens defeated No. 7 Loyola, 13-11, and No. 3 JMU, 6-5, before falling to No. 10 Old Dominion, 9-7, in overtime in the CAA finals.
· Delaware also earned an 8-6 win over No. 18 ODU in 2009 before an 8-7 loss to Towson in the finals.
· The Blue Hens had four players recognized Thursday with CAA postseason accolades. Becky Gohsler led the way with back-to-back All-First Team honors while Mia DeRuggiero, Chantae Simms and Taylor Carpentier garnered Second Team accolades.
· With three draw controls against Drexel, Becky Gohsler became the program's single-season record holder with 75 draw controls. She broke Caitlin McCartney's record of 73 draw controls in 2015.
· Becky Gohsler is currently second in Delaware history with 180 career draw controls. Caitlin McCartney holds the career mark with 186 draw controls (2012-15).
· Becky Gohsler is also third all-time with 76 career caused turnovers. Erin Wein (2013-16) holds the school record with 126 career caused turnovers and Caitlin McCartney (2012-15) is second with 86.
· Taylor Carpentier became the sixth player in Delaware history to log 400 career saves with an eight-save performance against Drexel.
· With 35 assists, Mia DeRuggiero is second in Blue Hens single season history while Denise Swift holds the record of 43 set in 1984.
· Sydney Rausa ranks 23rd nationally with a 55.8 shot percentage while Taylor Carpentier is 16th nationally with 10.13 saves per game and 27th with 2.94 ground balls per game, Becky Gohsler is 18th nationally with 2.00 caused turnovers per game and Mia DeRuggiero is 29th with 2.06 assists per game.
· The Hens was predicted to finished fourth in the CAA Preseason Poll.
· Seniors Taylor Carpentier and Becky Gohsler were picked as All-CAA Preseason selections.
· This season marks the 41st overall in Delaware program history. In the previous 40 seasons, the Blue Hens have tallied a composite record of 377-295 (.561) with 18 10-plus win campaigns.
· A squad that went 9-8 overall and 4-2 in CAA play with a trip to the CAA Tournament last year, UD returns 19 letter winners and eight starters while adding 11 newcomers.
· A youthful squad, the Hens feature just 11 juniors and seniors in 2017.
· Kateri Linville, who is in her eighth season at her alma mater in 2017-18, welcomes Joe Tornetta and Callie Santos as assistant coaches for the year.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
· James Madison is 27-17 all-time against Delaware since the first matchup in 1982.
· Earlier this season, Katie Caddigan tied a career-high with four points on two goals and two assists while Becky Gohsler led Delaware with four draw controls, but the #4/4 Dukes topped the Blue Hens, 19-5, at Sentara Park.
· In last year's CAA semifinals contest, #20/19 JMU pulled out the 11-10 overtime victory at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium.
· Delaware had previously won two straight over James Madison, including a 15-12 victory on April 23, 2017 at Delaware Stadium. Senior co-captain Coley Ricci led all scorers with a career-high six points on a career-best five goals and an assist. She added two draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover in the crucial win.
