RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen senior Jordan Cargile was named Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.
Cargile (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) closed out her senior season with a week of victories as she went 4-0 with a 0.71 ERA in five appearances while allowing just three runs (two earned) in 19.2 innings of work.
She gave up just one hit in three combined relief innings and picked up the win in the nightcap during Wednesday's sweep of Mount St. Mary's.
The UD senior won her eighth, ninth and 10th games of the year after striking out 10 batters in last weekend's three-game sweep against Elon to close Delaware's season. Cargile surrendered one run in a complete game victory during Friday's 3-1 win over Elon and just one unearned run in Saturday's 2-1 triumph over the Phoenix.
Cargile finishes her collegiate career ranked second in UD history with 122 appearances, 13th with 29 victories, and 12th with 179 strikeouts.
Cargile becomes the second Blue Hen in school history to earn conference Pitcher of the Week accolades in consecutive weeks, along with Kristi O'Connell in the America East Conference in 1998.
