SURULERE-LAGOS, Nigeria – Playing on the global stage is something that very few student-athletes get a chance to experience.
But that's exactly what reigning CAA Player of the Year Nicole Enabosi was invited to do after she received an invitation to attend the Nigerian National Team Camp later this month in Atlanta.
"I'm extremely blessed and excited to be invited. It's truly an honor to be awarded this opportunity," Enabosi said. "I can't thank Delaware and this program enough for giving me the platform and I can't wait to get to work!"
The Nigerian National Team will begin its national team camp on Wednesday, July 18that the Riverdale Epicenter, in preparation for the FIBA 2018 Women's World Cup in Spain.
Enabosi is coming off a historic 2017-18 season for the Blue Hens, in which she became the fifth player in program history to earn Conference Player of the Year accolades. She averaged 18.0 ppg and 11.8 rpg, en route to 23 double-doubles.
She set a program record with 378 rebounds last season, 38 more than any other player in school history. Her 577 points were the fifth-highest single season total in program history. She finished with double-digit scoring performances in 30 of her 32 games.
