Blaine Lafferty Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. – Recent Blue Hen men's golf graduate Blaine Lafferty has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) announced this week.
Lafferty, a native of Marlton, N.J., recently graduated from Delaware with a finance degree. He competed in all but one tournament last season for the Blue Hens, ranking second on the team with a 74.86 average round. Lafferty tied for seventh place at the Bash at the Beach tournament by finishing at one over par, and tied for 14th place at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational at three over par. He was the team's top finisher in two tournaments, and earned the Charlie Horn Grinder Award following the season.
Lafferty finished his career ranked eighth in program history with a 75.46 stroke average.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years as the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
