Prieto, Schroeder Named to Preseason All-CAA Men’s Soccer Team

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware junior midfielder Fede Prieto and senior defender John Schroeder were named to the Preseason All-CAA Men's Soccer Team on Thursday.
Prieto appeared in 13 matches while starting seven a year ago for the Blue Hens, leading the team with four goals and nine points. He scored in consecutive games against Villanova and Seton Hall early in year, before adding a goal and an assist in UD's 3-2 win over Drexel on Sept. 27. Prieto's final tally of the campaign came against James Madison on Oct. 11.
Schroeder, a 2017 first team All-CAA selection, saw action in all 16 matches while starting 15 in the UD backfield a year ago. He tied for the team lead with three assists, while his lone goal of the season came at William & Mary on Oct. 1. Schroeder handed out assists in each of the first two matches against Bryant and Temple, while he also added a helper vs. Drexel.
Delaware was picked sixth in the CAA Preseason Poll with 31 points. The Blue Hens open their 2018 regular season at home against Villanova on Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
