Delaware Finishes Third, Sakulbunpanich Eighth at Season-Opening Golfweek Program Championship

Pawleys Island, S.C. – The University of Delaware women's golf team posted a 293 score during Tuesday's final round of the Golfweek Program Championship as the Blue Hens opened their fall season by finishing in third place at the tournament.
Delaware, which carded 304 and 289 scores during the first two days of the invitational, placed third out of 14 teams with an 886 total. Campbell claimed the team title at 834, followed by Old Dominion at 840 and the Blue Hens.
UD sophomore Thitaree Sakulbunpanich was the Blue Hens' low scorer for the third consecutive day, as she fired a two under par 69 on the par 71, 5,904-yard course at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Sakulbunpanich, who recorded four birdies during her final round, tied for eighth place with an even par 75-69-69-213, the second lowest three-round score in program history.
Ariane Klotz tied for 13th place at the tournament with a six over par 76-70-73-219, while Valentina Mueller carded a 14 over par 76-73-78-227 to finish in 30th place.
Ashley Dingman placed 39th with an 18 over par 77-77-77-231, while Mackenzie Dieter tied for 49th place with a 21 over par 78-82-74-234. Josefina Fernandez-Davila, who played as an individual, tied for 65th place with a 34 over par 85-77-85-247.
The Blue Hens return to action on Sept. 24-26 when they compete in the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colo.
