RICHMOND, Va. – Coming into a new school can be an intimidating task as a transfer student.
Diana Dunn of the University of Delaware cross country program doesn't seem to be having a problem with that transitioning, finishing as the Blue Hens top runner for the second straight race.
This week, her fourth-place finish at the Delaware Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park helped her earn CAA Runner of the Week accolades.
"Diana has had a great start to her season. She is working hard right now and that effort is showing up in her results," head cross country coach Ryan Waite said. "Her contribution to the team has been much more than just her top finishes at meets, it's been the energy and excitement she brings to our group every single day."
Dunn clocked the six-kilometer course in 23:07, running with the front pack for the majority of the race, a pack which included several all-conference caliber runners from the University of Richmond.
She's just the second Delaware runner in the past four years to take home the weekly honor.
Dunn and her teammates will next head to the Nuttycomb Invitaitonal in Wisconsin next weekend.
