Delaware, Klotz Tied for Fifth Place After First Day of Lady Blue Hen Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware is tied for fifth place while Ariane Klotz and Thitaree Sakulbunpanich are both among the top 10 individuals following Saturday's opening two rounds of the Lady Blue Hen Invitational.
The Blue Hens posted rounds of 291 and 308 on Saturday, ending the day tied for fifth put of 11 squads with a 599 total. Penn leads the field with a 569 total, while Seton Hall sits in second place with a 581 score.
Klotz carded a one over par 67-78-145 on the par 72, 6,126-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club course, finishing the day in a tie for fifth place. Klotz's opening round 67 tied her career-low and tied for the second lowest in program history, as she recorded six birdies against just one bogey to finish the round at five under.
Sakulbunpanich fired a pair of 73 rounds on Saturday and is tied for seventh place with a two over par 73-73-146. Freshmen Lene Sperling (76-78-154) and Lexi Dart (75-79-154) each finished the day tied for 36th place at 10 over par.
Isabella Rimton is tied for 52nd place with a 14 over par 79-79-158, while Siena Ferrick is tied for 55th place with a 16 over par 80-80-160. Kylie Greulich carded a 21 over par 85-80-165 to finish the day in 60th place, while Josefina Fernandez-Davila fired a 22 over par 82-84-166 to end the day in 61st place. Aashaka Desai, who carded a 23 over par 85-82-167, is tied for 62nd place at the tournament.
Susan Xiao of Penn leads the way at eight under par, while her teammate Rina Jung is five shots back.
The final round of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
