Blue Hens Sweep CAA Weekly Accolades

RICHMOND, Va. – Following a 2-0 conference weekend, the No. 12 Blue Hens swept Colonial Athletic Association weekly honors as Femke Strien was named the Player of the Week and Ashlyn Carr garnered Rookie of the Week accolades.
Strien earned the honors for the third time this season while Carr was named the Rookie of the Week for the second time.
Strien led Delaware with a career-best seven points, including her first career hat trick, in Friday's win at Hofstra. She also added one goal and one assist in Sunday's shutout victory at Drexel to help team clinch spot in the CAA Tournament. The forward has scored multiple goals in four games this season and has tallied a career-best 14 goals and 32 points this season. Strien ranks ninth nationally with 0.93 goals per game and 10th with 2.13 points per.
Carr collected two goals in the win at Drexel in what was her second game this season with multiple goals. The freshman posted game-winning goals in both games this weekend and has scored in four of last six games. She is second on the team in goals, points, shots and game-winning goals behind Strien.
Delaware concludes regular season play this weekend by hosting William & Mary (Friday, 6 p.m.) and James Madison (Sunday, 1 p.m.)
