Mark Battle, Jake Steinberg Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Men’s Soccer Team

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware junior midfielder Mark Battle and sophomore forward Jake Steinberg were named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 team last Thursday.
Battle (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) carries a 3.95 GPA as an electrical engineering major. He appeared in 13 games while making nine starts this season in the Blue Hen midfield, posting three shots on the year. Battle has seen action in 24 matches during his first three seasons in Newark, and scored his lone goal against Penn on Oct. 4, 2017.
Steinberg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) carries a 3.91 GPA as a finance major. He appeared in 12 games and made seven starts this fall, recording a goal and an assist during the Blue Hens' 3-2 win over Elon on Sept. 28. Steinberg has scored two goals and assisted on four others while playing in 24 games during his first two years at UD.
Battle and Steinberg advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with national honorees announced in early December.
