Femke Strien Earns Fourth CAA Player of the Week Award

RICHMOND, Va. – Femke Strien opened the year with two straight Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week awards and now the junior has wrapped the regular season with back-to-back CAA Player of the Week honors, as announced Tuesday by the league office.
Strien is the lone conference player to earn the honor more than once this season.
The forward led the Blue Hens to a 2-0 weekend with wins over William & Mary and James Madison. She collected two assists and a goal against the Tribe before posting the game's lone goal versus the Dukes.
Strien finished the regular season with at least one goal in four straight games and is tied for ninth in Delaware single-season history with 16 goals.
She currently ranks seventh nationally with 0.94 goals per game and eighth with 2.24 goals per.
The reigning four-time CAA regular season champion Blue Hens welcome William & Mary, Northeastern and James Madison to Fred P. Rullo Stadium this weekend for the 2019 CAA Field Hockey Championship. Top-seeded Delaware will face the fourth-seeded Dukes at 1 p.m. Friday while the Tribe and Huskies will matchup at 4 p.m. Sunday's championship game will be played at 1 p.m.
