PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Delaware snapped a four-game winning streak Sunday evening as the Blue Hens fell to Drexel, 58-41, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Graduate student Makeda Nicholas guided the Hens (10-12, 5-5 CAA) with 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists while junior Rebecca Lawrence tallied eight points and three rebounds and sophomore Lizzie Oleary collected six points and eight rebounds.
Delaware led off with the first points of the game, but Drexel quickly went up by 10 and never looked back.
POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Natasha Adair
"Denise [Dillon, Drexel head coach] does a phenomenal job. They're recognized as one of the top defensive teams in the country and we knew that coming in. I liked some of the shots we took, but we didn't knock them down. We were undisciplined on the defensive end and against a team like this you have to play solid sustainable defense, which we didn't do for 40 minutes. When we erred defensively, we got exposed. Our post players did well today and I really thought that Makeda [Nicholas], Lizzie [Oleary] and Becca [Lawrence] stepped up. But in order for us to be successful, it has to be a group effort. In order for us to beat the teams above us, we have to be more disciplined."
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· The Blue Hens were without rookie standout Jasmine Dickey, who is out indefinitely with a broken hand.
· All eight active Delaware players recorded at least one point and one assist.
· The Hens outrebounded the Dragons, 30-28.

· Makeda Nicholas recorded the lone block of the game and is now tied alongside Paula Polyanski (1983-86) for fifth all-time with 155 career blocked shots.
· Sunday's game was Drexel's annual Play for Kay "pink" game in support of the fight against breast cancer.
