Two ECAC Qualifiers Highlight Trip to Princeton Invitaitonal

PRINCETON, N.J. – 13 days away.
That's all that separates the University of Delaware track & field program from the ECAC Championships in Boston.
The group headed there grew even larger this past weekend with two more ECAC qualifers at the Princeton Invitational to make it 10 total individuals and three relays making the trip to the upcoming championships.
"We're excited about the progress that we've continually shown each week. These girls have been working really hard and it's been great to see the team coming together and pushing each other every week," head coach Wendy McFarlane-Smith said.
Sophomore Halimah Roberson (triple jump) and senior Andriene Rose (60m) both earned their spots at ECAC Championships with their performances on Saturday.
Roberson had a big day with a leap of 38' 5" to grab second place in the event, qualify for ECACs and have the third-best mark in school history. She also teamed up with Naliah Jackson, Bema Kyeadea-Amponsah and Olivia Goncerz to win the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:12.51.
Rose earned her spot with an ECAC qualifying time of 7.73 in the 60m to claim second and punch her ticket.
Goncerz torched the track to the tune of 9.08 in the 60m hurdles, good for fifth in the event and fifth in school history. Senior Carly McGrath clocked in at 8.89, which was good for third in the event and fourth in school history.
Senior Jeanette Bendolph continue to look strong to the season, taking home a wire-to-wire win in the 800m, clocking in at 2:15.08.
As a whole, the Blue Hens took home 19 top-five finishes, seven of which were in the top-three of the events.

Delaware makes one more trip to attempt to add more student-athletes to the group going to ECACs next when when it travels to the Armory in NYC for the Last Chance Meet.
