Blue Hens Set Three-Round Team Record, Place Fourth at Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Delaware women's golf squad set the program record for a three-round team score as the Blue Hens finished in fourth place at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
Delaware fired a 289 score during Tuesday's final round at the tournament, finishing in fourth place out of 49 teams with a 289-296-289-874. Coastal Carolina and North Florida tied for the team title with 865 scores, followed by Tulsa at 872 and the Blue Hens at 874.
The Blue Hens topped the school's previous 54-hole record of 876 set on Feb. 25-26, 2018 at the Westbrook Invitational.
UD junior Ariane Klotz carded a three under par 69 during her final round on the par 72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point Golf Club course, tying for 13th place with an even par 73-74-69-216. Klotz, who tied her career low round on Tuesday, fired six birdies on the day.
Thitaree Sakulbunpanich shot a one over par 73 on her final round of the tournament, tying for 21st place with a two over par 72-73-73-218. Sakulbunpanich birdied the fourth hole and added 15 pars on Tuesday.
Ashley Dingman, who posted birdies on the seventh and eighth holes, also fired a 73 to tie for 31st place at 72-75-73-220, four over par.
Valentina Mueller tied for 38th place with a six over par 72-74-76-222, while Sophia Dieter tied for 76th place with a 10 over par 76-76-74-226. Kylie Greulich, playing as an individual, carded a 28 over par 81-80-83-244 to tie for 199th place.
Sydney Shrader of North Florida was the tournament medalist by finishing at nine under par.
The Blue Hens return to action on Mar. 4-5 at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
