Blue Hens Earn Fifth Seed, Will Face William & Mary in CAA Quarterfinals

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The fifth-seeded University of Delaware men's basketball team is getting set to face fourth-seeded William & Mary in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
The Blue Hens (16-15, 8-10 CAA) will battle the Tribe (14-16, 10-8 CAA) Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum during the second game of the quarterfinals.
The teams split two regular season meetings this season, with each squad winning on its home court. Delaware posted an 58-56 victory at the Bob Carpenter Center on Jan. 3, while William & Mary recorded an 84-63 win at Kaplan Arena on Feb. 2. The only other postseason meeting between the schools came in the 2014 CAA Championship Game, when the Blue Hens edged the Tribe, 75-74, at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore to earn the NCAA Tournament bid.
The first round of the tournament will take place on Saturday, with eighth-seeded James Madison facing ninth-seeded Towson at 4 p.m. and seventh-seeded Elon taking on 10th-seeded UNCW at 6:30 p.m.
Top-seeded Hofstra will take on the winner of the James Madison/Towson game in Sunday's first quarterfinal at 12 noon, followed by the Delaware-William & Mary matchup. Second-seeded Northeastern will face the Elon/UNCW winner at 6 p.m., before No. 3 seed Charleston and No. 6 seed Drexel wrap up the day at 8:30 p.m.
The semifinals will take place on Monday at 6 and 8:30 p.m. while Tuesday's championship game begins at 7 p.m.
Saturday's first round games and all four quarterfinal games will be available online at CAA.TV, while the semifinals and championship game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network.
