Blue Hen Women’s Golfers Finish in Second Place at CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Delaware finished in second place while three Blue Hens placed among the top 11 individuals as UD concluded its 2019 spring season this weekend at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
After carding 315 and 307 scores during the first two days of the tournament, Delaware fired a 313 on Sunday to finish second out of eight teams with a 935 total. UNCW captured the league title with a 918 score, while the Blue Hens finished 17 shots back. Charleston placed third at 936, while Towson was fourth with a 938 score.
UD senior Ashley Dingman shot a six over par 78 during her final round on the par 72, 6,103-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation, finishing in ninth place with a 15 over par 76-77-78-231.
Ariane Klotz posted the lowest round of the day by a Blue Hen, as she carded five birdies during her one over par 73. Klotz finished in 10th place at the championship with a 16 over par 84-75-73-232, while Thitaree Sakulbunpanich shot a 17 over par 77-77-79-233 over the weekend to finish in 11th place.
Sophia Dieter tied for 17th place at the tournament with a 23 over par 78-78-83-239, while Valentina Mueller tied for 32nd place with a 37 over par 87-80-86-253.
Phu Khine of UNCW was the tournament champion by finishing at seven over par.
