Thitaree Sakulbunpanich Named CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen sophomore Thitaree Sakulbunpanich was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following her record-setting performance at the Edisto Island Invitational over the weekend.
Sakulbunpanich tied for medalist honors at the tournament by carding a six under par 69-65-73-207 on the par 71, 5,902-yard Plantation Course at Edisto, posting the first victory of her career. Her score established a 54-hole program record, breaking the previous mark of 209 set by current assistant coach Andi Slane at the 2015 CAA Championship.
Sakulbunpanich's second round 65 on Sunday was also a UD record, eclipsing the previous mark of 67 set by Slane and Ariane Klotz. She posted six birdies to go with 12 pars during her record-setting round.
Sakulbunpanich led Delaware to a second place team finish at the invitational, as the Blue Hens' 870 score set a 54-hole record.
Sakulbunpanich shared CAA weekly honors with Kate Owens of James Madison, who also fired a 207 at the tournament.
