Blue Hen Catcher Anna Steinmetz Named Second Team NFCA All-Northeast Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Delaware senior catcher Anna Steinmetz was named to the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Northeast Region Second Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Steinmetz (Glen Mills, Pa./West Chester Bayard Rustin), who was selected third team All-Region in 2016 and 2018, becomes the second Blue Hen in school history to earn All-Region honors three times, along with Mariah Kondravy.
Steinmetz, a second team All-CAA selection last week, led the Blue Hens with a .329 batting average and eight home runs this year, while tying for the team lead with 47 hits and 26 walks. Her eight multi-RBI games were the most on the squad, while her 14 multi-hit games were second most.
Steinmetz, who started all 204 games during her career, is Delaware's leader with 44 career home runs while she ranks second with 154 RBI and 368 total bases. Her 201 career hits are fifth most in Blue Hen history, while her 97 runs scored and 33 doubles each rank eighth.
