Simms and DeRuggiero Earn All-ECAC Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – Chantae Simms and Mia DeRuggiero can add another honor to their resumes as the duo earned All-ECAC accolades, as announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference Friday.
Simms collected First Team honors while DeRuggiero was a Second Team pick for the Blue Hens. The pair each earned Colonial Athletic Association First Team praises earlier this month.
A defender from Edgewood, Md., Simms finished her senior year tied for the single-season school record of 39 caused turnovers and is second all-time with 90 career caused turnovers. She ranks third in the CAA and 10th nationally with 2.29 caused turnovers per game. Simms is also second in the conference with 2.71 ground balls per contest.
An attacker from Baltimore, Md., DeRuggiero broke Delaware's 35-year-old school single-season record with 53 assists, a mark that ties for fifth overall in CAA history. She leads the CAA and ranks sixth nationally with 3.12 assists per game and is second in the CAA with 4.29 points per. Her 3.12 assists per game is first all-time in the CAA record books.
