Timo Hummrich Selected to Preseason All-CAA Men’s Soccer Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen sophomore back Timo Hummrich has been named to the Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Team, the league announced on Thursday.
Hummrich, a native of Berlin, Germany, was selected the CAA Rookie of the Year, first team All-CAA and the UD Team MVP a year ago, when he paced the Blue Hens with four goals and eight points.
Hummrich, a three-time CAA Rookie of the Week honoree, also tied for fourth in the conference with three game-winning goals. He scored both goals in Delaware's 2-1 overtime win over Charleston, notched the only goal of the game in the 1-0 victory at Elon, and also scored in the Blue Hens' 2-1 triumph over Northeastern.
Delaware, which finished in fourth place last season in the CAA and earned a home game in the league tournament, was picked fifth in this year's preseason poll.
The Blue Hens open their 2019 regular season at Villanova on Friday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m., before the home opener against West Virginia at Grant Stadium on Monday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
