Delaware Posts Successful Day at Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Blue Hens finished the second day of the Penn Cissie Leary Memorial Invitational Saturday by amassing a 5-0 singles record.
Eliza Askarova improved to 3-0 to open her rookie campaign as she advanced to the Flight B semifinals following a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Columbia's Ali Pollack.
Isabella Montana came-from-behind to top Temple's Stefaniya Surikova, 1-6, 6-3, 10-4 in the Flight A Backdraw while Caragh Courtney defeated Penn State's Sydney Weinberg, 6-1, 2-6, 10-6, in the Flight A Win-Lose bracket.
In the Flight B Backdraw, Sarah Whited collected the 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 decision against Drexel's Mya Fuentes.
Delaware also saw victory in the Flight B Win-Lose bracket as Viva Laas posted the 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over Fordham's Rachelle Yang.
