Blue Hens Add Aja Austin and Mia Yanogacio for 2021-22

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware women's basketball head coach Natasha Adair announced Wednesday that Aja Austin and Mia Yanogacio have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Blue Hens beginning in 2021-22.
Austin, a 6-foot-1 center from Westerville, Ohio, averaged 12.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a junior last season for Westerville South High School, earning Second Team All-Ohio Capital Conference and honorable mention All-District honors. After returning from an injury her sophomore year, Austin averaged 12.4 points and 8.0 boards per game on her way to an honorable mention All-OCC nod. She has helped lead the Wildcats to the Ohio Capital Conference championship all three years of her career, including two district titles.
"Aja is a force!" Adair said. "She's a tireless worker on and off the court. Her presence around the rim and dominance on the glass will keep us at the top of the CAA in rebounding. She is a great finisher and has the ability to change shots. I love her personality, toughness, and grit. We are excited that Aja is a Blue Hen and we know that she'll make an immediate impact."
Yanogacio is a 5-foot-7 point guard from Somerset, N.J. A standout at Rutgers Preparatory School, she led the Argonauts to NJSIAA sectional finals appearances in 2017-18 and 2018-19, including a Non-Public championship in 2019.
"Mia is a dynamic person and player," Adair said. "She's a scorer and fearless competitor. She has great court vision, change of speed, and deep range from three. Mia is used to competing and winning at a high level. Her leadership and work ethic will make others around her better. I'm excited that she is officially a Blue Hen. She will be fun to watch!"
