Kedzlie Finishes Second, Blue Hens Fourth at Season-Opening Invitation at Savannah Harbor

SAVANNAH, Ga. – UD freshman Hugo Kedzlie finished in second place while the Blue Hen men's golf team placed fourth as Delaware opened its spring season this weekend at The Invitation at Savannah Harbor.
Kedzlie, who carded a pair of 70 rounds on Saturday, fired a one under par 71 during Sunday's final round on the par 72, 6,918-yard course at The Club at Savannah Harbor. He birdied the first, eighth, 11th and 14th holes to finish the tournament with a five under par 211.
Austin Schoonmaker of Wright State captured medalist honors by finishing at seven under par, while Kedzlie finished two shots back.
Jack Melville tied for 29th place at the invitational with a six over par 74-75-73-222, while Matt Pulgini carded a nine over par 78-72-75-225 to tie for 53rd place.
Michal Bargenda finished with a 10 over par 73-77-76-226 as he tied for 57th place, while Roberto Nieves tied for 71st place with a 14 over par 77-73-80-230.
Delaware fired a 295 team score on Sunday, finishing fourth out of 19 squads with an 879 total. Valparaiso won the team title with an 869 score, followed by Wright State at 871, Francis Marion at 878, and the Blue Hens.
UD returns to the course next weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Loyola Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz.
