Blue Hens Finish Eighth, Klotz 14th at Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Delaware women's golf team finished in eighth place while Blue Hen senior Ariane Klotz placed 14th at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
The Blue Hens posted their lowest team score of the invitational by carding a 287 on Tuesday, placing eighth out of 53 squads with an 886 three-round total. Tournament host College of Charleston captured the team title with an 860 score, while FGCU finished second at 866.
Klotz carded a four under par 68 during her final round on the par 72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point course on Tuesday, moving up 38 spots into 14th place with a one over par 76-73-68-217. Klotz recorded five birdies against just one bogey during her final round of the invitational.
Thitaree Sakulbunpanich, who fired a one over par 73 on Tuesday, tied for 15th place at the tournament with a two over par 74-71-73-218.
Lexi Dart tied for 36th place with a five over par 72-77-72-221, Isabella Rimton tied for 146th place with a 19 over par 81-80-74-235, and Lene Sperling tied for 157th place with a 20 over par 76-82-78-236.
Kylie Greulich tied for fifth place out of 15 golfers in the Kiawah Island Individual tournament with a 23 over par 80-82-77-239 on the par 72, 6,031-yard Cougar Point course.
Delaware returns to action on Mar. 9-10 when the Blue Hens compete in the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
