Bolt Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Accolades

NEWARK, Del. - It may have only been one year, but the impact that Abby Bolt made on the University of Delaware track & field and cross country programs went far beyond her running ability.

Sure, Bolt helped the Blue Hens to the highest-ever finish at the 2019 CAA XC Championships. Sure, she earned All-CAA accolades at the meet. Sure, she raced her way to a spot at the 2020 ECAC Indoor Championships. But that's not the only place she shined.

Bolt, a native of Reno, Nev. and graduate transfer from Saint Mary's (Calif.), posted a 3.88 grade point average in Molecular Biology and Genetics to earn her way onto the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-District team.

"I'm extremely proud of Abby for putting in the work to achieve this honor," head coach Wendy McFarlane-Smith said. "I take great joy in celebrating with Abby, our staff and the entire program for exercising the 'student first' model in athletics."
