Jack Melville Named All-America Scholar, Blue Hens Earn GCAA Team Academic Award

NORMAN, Okla. – Recent Blue Hen graduate Jack Melville was named a Second Wave Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar this week, while the Delaware men's golf squad was tabbed an All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Melville, who graduated from UD in May with a degree in finance, earned All-American Scholar honors for the second consecutive year. He appeared in all seven tournaments this season for the Blue Hens, averaging 74.50 shots per round, and earned the CAA Leadership and Sport Excellence Award for men's golf.
Melville, who posted a cumulative 3.574 GPA at Delaware, currently ranks fifth in program history with a 74.29 stroke average.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status in Division I an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically, must have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2.
The Blue Hen men's golf squad was named a GCAA All-Academic Team by posting a 3.327 team GPA for the 2019-20 academic year. Five of the six team members finished with a GPA above 3.0, led by freshmen Michal Bargenda (3.811) and Hugo Kedzlie (3.792).
