Mason Tabbed as Co-CAA Offensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND,Va. – Wonderful things comes in threes! For the third time this season, the University of Delaware volleyball junior outside hitter Lani Mason was tabbed as the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) Co-Offensive Player of the Week for games played October 18-24, announced Monday by league officials.
Mason led the Blue Hens to an undefeated week (2-0) by averaging 5.13 kills, 2.88 digs and swinging at a rate of .302 in eight sets played. The Chester, Va. native opened the weekend series against Charleston (Oct. 23) with a match-high 20 kills to go with five digs and an ace in the four-set Homecoming victory. Mason put together a 21 kill and 18 dig performance to post her sixth double-double of the season to lead the Blue Hens to a critical four-set win over Charleston (Oct. 24) to climb the conference standings. She added four blocks, two assists and one ace to her stat line on Dig Pink night.
On the season, Mason averages 3.93 points, 3.45 kills and 2.38 digs in 78 sets played. She ranks among the conference leaders in kills (3rd, 269), kills per set (3rd), points (3rd, 306.5), points per set (3rd), service aces (7th, 25) and service per set (t-7th, 0.32).

Mason and the Blue Hens hit the road Friday, Oct. 29, for their final CAA road weekend series showdown against the defending conference champions, Towson University (19-3, 7-3 CAA), inside Secu Arena in Towson, Md. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m.
