Men’s Lacrosse Releases 2022 Schedule

NEWARK, Del. - The reigning Colonial Athletic Association regular-season champions are back and ready to take the field in 2022, as fifth-year head coach Ben DeLuca announced its upcoming spring schedule.
"Our program is excited for the tremendous challenges that our schedule presents this spring," said DeLuca. "We look forward to the opportunity to compete against some of the nation's best teams both in and out of conference."
The Blue Hens will play seven games at Delaware Stadium in 2022 and nine on the road. The schedule includes six opponents that finished the season ranked in the Men's Division I Inside Lacrosse final poll.
Delaware is coming off its first outright CAA championship. The Blue Hens have a pair of exhibition road games. The first is on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Richmond, followed by a game on Saturday, Jan. 29 at Maryland.
February 5 will be the first opportunity for blue and gold fans to see the team in Newark when UD hosts NJIT. Mount St. Mary's pays a visit to Delaware Stadium the following week for a Saturday showdown on Feb. 12.
A midweek matchup at St. Joe's on Tuesday, Feb. 15 is in store for Delaware. The Blue Hens will then travel to North Carolina to take on Duke on Tuesday, Feb. 22, before closing out the month of February at home versus Monmouth on the 26th.
A trip to Michigan is on the slate for UD on Saturday, March. The Blue Hens then return home for back-to-back games against Marist on Saturday, March 12 and Johns Hopkins on Sunday, Mar. 20.
A short road trip up the road to Villanova is the destination on Saturday, Mar. 26 to complete non-conference play.
A week later, Delaware will head to Amherst to play UMass on April 2 to open up a five-game CAA slate. UD will play two league contests at home. First will be on Saturday, April 9 against Hofstra for Senior Day. The home finale will be on Saturday, April 16 at Towson.
The Blue Hens close out the regular season with games at Drexel (April 23) and Fairfield (April 30).
The 2022 CAA Championships are set to begin in Philadelphia on Thursday, May 5 with the semifinal round, followed by the title game on Saturday, May 7. Drexel will serve as the host institution.
