WILMINGTON, N.C. - The women's swimming and diving team completed the first day of the CAA Pod Meet, with sophomore Mira Selling setting two pool records at Seahawk Natatorium.Â
"It was a great racing day for our program," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "After a sluggish start, the team turned it around for the second session and we had some great swims. We felt the almost month of not racing, but we were able to refocus and compete at a high level. Our diving group also had a great day on the boards, continuing to get better as the season goes."
In the first wave events, Selling placed first in the 200 IM by setting a pool record with a time of 2:03.92. The sophomore set another pool record in the afternoon session, placing first in the 200 Free with a time of 1:49.88.
In diving, Rowan O'Sullivan placed fifth in one meter with a mark of 249.60. Jordan Campbell led the way for the Blue Hens in three meter diving with a score of 236.00.
Later in the afternoon, Andromachi Tasakou placed third in the 100 Breaststroke, defeating UNCW with a time of 1:06.73.
The Blue Hens will compete in the second day of the CAA Pod Meet tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
