Grant Earns USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Honors

NEWARK, Del. - Delaware's Owen Grant was named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Third Team, announced today by the national publication.
Grant, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Year, helped guide the Blue Hens to the CAA regular-season title with a 7-1 mark in conference play in 2021. His 2.36 caused turnovers per game ranked third nationally for a Delaware squad that led the CAA in scoring defense at 10.08 goals per game.
A Newmarket, Ontario native, Grant had a team-best 26 caused turnovers, tying the single-season program record. He ranked third on the squad with 42 ground balls while also scoring three goals and dishing out an assist during his junior campaign. Grant is the only CAA player named to the preseason list.
The Blue Hens are set to open the 2022 season on Saturday, Feb. 5 at home versus NJIT.
