Blue Hens Open Diving Slate with Successful Showing

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's diving squad got its 2021 season underway Friday afternoon at Rawstrom Natatorium with two freshman earning first-place finishes against Villanova.

"I'm extremely happy with the overall team performance today, being all freshman and in their first collegiate competition," said diving coach Ryan Hunt. "Consistency is key and that showed throughout for our divers today."

Freshman Julia Servas had a standout performance in the 1-meter, winning the event with a score of 257.45 ahead of classmate Rowan O'Sullivan, who placed second with a score of 242.70.

O'Sullivan got the better of Servas in the 3-meter, with a 279.90 score to win the event. Servas was close behind in second with a 242.55 score in her collegiate debut.

Also making their Delaware debuts were Jordan Campbell, Jenna Loquercio, and Ella Drazek.

The swimming portion of the dual with Villanova is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. in Rawstrom Natatorium.
