Chesapeake Utilities' SHARING Program Partners With Delaware Women's Basketball

Delaware women's basketball is excited to once again partner with Chesapeake Utilities and their SHARING Program for the 2020-21 season.
Chesapeake Utilities created the SHARING Program with donations provided by customers, employees, the community and Chesapeake Utilities to ensure that the elderly, ill and those facing financial hardship are not forgotten during the cold winter months when energy bills are at their peak. In the past 10 years, more than 3,000 grants totaling almost $600,000 have been distributed by the SHARING Program.
The SHARING Program is led by a Board of Trustees who volunteer their time to ensure this mission is met. They participate in community functions to raise funds while also making those in the community aware of the program and its benefits. The grant awards from the SHARING Program have been level or increased since the Program was incorporated.
"Helping residents in the community is a priority for Chesapeake Utilities," SHARING President Jenn Clausius said. "The added stress of COVID has broadened the need for assistance and I am proud that the SHARING Program is there to fill the need."
For every assist by Delaware women's basketball this season, Chesapeake Utilities will donate $5 towards the SHARING Program. Last year, Chesapeake Utilities contributed $1,670, and through 16 games of this season, they have donated $1,000.
"Our Blue Hen family is happy to be collaborating with Chesapeake Utilities on this great initiative to help the community, and we plan on doing our part by racking up lots of assists!" head coach Natasha Adair said.
