Hanna Garber, Emily Winburn Earn CAA Softball Weekly Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen centerfielder Hanna Garber was named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Co-Player of the Week while pitcher Emily Winburn was selected the league's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
Garber went a perfect 7 for 7 during Saturday's doubleheader split with Hofstra. She finished 3 for 3 in the opener, before going 4 for 4 in the nightcap with two doubles and two stolen bases.
Garber has now hit safely in eight consecutive bats and reached safely in nine straight at bats, dating back to the previous weekend. She currently leads the Blue Hens with a .457 batting average, 16 hits, 10 runs scored and six stolen bases on the year.
Winburn allowed one run on four hits in a complete game victory during UD's 2-1 win over Hofstra in Saturday's opener. She struck out seven batters while walking just one to improve to 4-0 on the year. Winburn, who won her second Rookie of the Week award of the spring, currently ranks second in the league with a 1.38 earned run average.
